On Saturday, April 27th, ACSF held its Kid's Capoeira-thon/Gincana. For almost two hours 25 kids ages 5-12 did as many paradas, aús, pontes and jogos as they could, playing hard and raising donations for our Batizado Graduation Ceremony and Youth Performance on May 19th. At the end of the day, ACSF's youth students had done 740 paradas, 615 aús, 573 pontes and played more than 67 jogos! This was ACSF's second Capoeira-thon/Gincana, after the huge success of our first one last September. Donations will be collected over the next 10 days. All donations are due by May 10th. Thank you to all of our young capoeiristas, to our volunteers and of course to our donors. This event is only possible because of all of you. Muito obrigada!

Rest in Peace Grão Mestre Camisa RoxaOn April 18th, the capoeira world was saddened by the unexpected passing of Grão Mestre Camisa Roxa Edvaldo Carneiro e Silva, a first-generation Formado of Mestre Bimba and the older brother of Mestre Camisa José Tadeu Carneiro Cardoso, the founder of ABADÁ-Capoeira. Edvaldo Carneiro "Grão Mestre Camisa Roxa" will be missed, but his influences will live on.
Special thanks to our funders!
