RAY PROJECT: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What are the volunteer requirements for children/students under 12?
ACSF no longer requires volunteer hours from parents of children under the age of 12.  However volunteers are often needed for large events, studio maintenance and/or renovation projects, community outreach, etc.  If you appreciate the service ACSF provides to the community, and youths such as yours, and would like to show this appreciation in the form of volunteer hours, please let us know.  We will be happy to put you to work!

I qualify for the Registration-Only Level, but my child is joining the program mid-session.  Do I still need to pay the full amount?
If your child is joining the program significantly late, we may consider per-class payments (such as with RAY Level 1 and RAY Level 2).  This will be determined on a case-by-case basis.  Please contact Lisa Silva-Willoughby or Erica Hemenway with questions.

My child qualified for RAY 1 / 2 ;  now there has been a change in our household income.  Can I re-apply for a change in RAY status?
RAY status levels are decided at the beginning of each session and will be in effect until the end of the session.  If your income level changes significantly (either raised or lowered), please let us know.  Changes in RAY status mid-session will be handed on a case-by-case basis.  Please contact Lisa Silva-Willoughby or Erica Hemenway with questions.

Do I get discounts for uniforms, batizado fees or summer camp?
RAY program covers classes only.  Keep in mind that you child is training at a reduced price and ACSF asks for your help only by paying for Batizado/event participation and uniform cost, which occur only once a year.
We will make you aware of any fees required at the start of the program.

Summer Camp: ACSF has less funding available to cover Summer Camp programs and therefore is only able to provide a small number of scholarships. ACSF may provide reduced rates for RAY participants if minimum enrollment requirement is met.

How can teens earn their Participation Points?
Teens earn their Participation Points in five different ways: Class Attendance, Performance Participation, Bringing a Friend, Studio Volunteering and Event Volunteering. Accumulated points are calculated at the end of each session. Please note: Points will not be carried over from one session to the next. Each session is a new opportunity to earn qualifying points for the next session.
