Joshua Peterson "Potro"

Began training at ACSF in 2009
Josh is a full-time student at Skyline College in San Mateo, where he is studying to become
a firefighter. In addition to working part-time at the ACSF front desk, Josh has been an
active volunteer for many events and workshops, including the recent kid's batizado in May.
A member of the performance troupe, Josh is seen frequently on the viola and medio at
performances.
From his Personal Statement:
"Recently I found out that I could actually go to Brazil… My journey with capoeira has been
very short up to now, but I feel like I've ingested a larger part of the Brazilian and capoeira
culture and … I feel that going to Brazil will allow me to grow even further."
