HELP ACSF RAISE $40K THIS GIVING SEASON
End-of-year fundraising campaign kicks off this month!
With 30+ years as a women-led Mission District stronghold, ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco continues its commitment to providing accessible, inclusive, culturally authentic programs and apprenticeships taught by highly skilled artists.
Using Capoeira and cultural arts as a catalyst, ACSF:
- Bridges diverse populations
- Uplifts underresourced individuals and communities
- Inspires improved health and wellness
- Improves access to quality physical and arts education
- Provides skill development and job placement opportunities to emerging and established artists
At ACSF we believe that by galvanizing communities through art and culture, we create a more promising future. To date, our youth programs alone have served more than 20,000 children and teens, the majority of whom are low-income San Franciscans. But we need to reach more people. This is why we’re asking for your help before the year ends.
One individual can create a ripple of change, positively impacting a family, a community, and eventually society. Can you help us? Can you make the first wave by making a tax-deductible donation to ACSF?
We want to increase our reach and expose more youth to the art and athleticism of Capoeira and integrate them into diverse populations, foster honesty and respect, create empathetic leaders, and connect generations that care for one another and their communities.
“In this changing city, after 31 years, we are fortunate to still be here and thriving as one of the last non-profit arts centers in San Francisco’s Mission District,” said Marcia Treidler, a.k.a. Mestra Cigarra, Artistic Director of ACSF. “Cultural centers are the binding glue of the community of which we are all a part. Our organization bridges communities through Capoeira and provides a creative outlet for all walks of life to engage with others and experience Afro-Brazilian culture. Participants of all ages learn a variety of lessons, not only cultural, like art and dance, but life skills, like confidence and respect. Our students in turn bring these lessons outside our Center to help build a stronger community.”
