FRONT DESK + FACILITIES PERSON
The ACSF front desk and facilities maintenance person manages and maintains the studio front desk and facility.
FRONT DESK
The Master of “first-impressions”- you will be the first face at ACSF’s Capoeira Arts Center, responsible for general customer service and management of the Center. This includes preparing the facility for programming and operating the front desk during active program times, ensuring proper sign-in and payment by students. You will greet students for classes, answer questions, and sell class passes and merchandise through Mindbody online software.
This position is also responsible for the tracking of inventory sales, maintenance and storage of all inventory in a clean and safe manner, and reporting inventory and supply needs to Director, Márcia Treidler, Mestra Cigarra.
FACILITIES MAINTENANCE
This position requires you to prepare the studio facility for programming, tidy it after and, at times, during classes, and manage it for event rentals. Basic studio and bathroom maintenance/cleaning, support for studio improvement projects, and consistent tidying are also required.
Deliverables:
- Greet and inform new or prospective students/parents/renters professionally and kindly.
- Prepare facilities for programming (i.e., clean and stock bathrooms; sweep studio floors; organize merch; tidy front of house)
- Conduct janitorial tasks, including mopping/sweeping the main studio, cleaning bathrooms and drinking water station.
- Conducted class and merchandise sales using Mindbody online sales software: received cash and made online transactions.
- Receive registration for new students, including RAY Project (youth scholarship) applications.
- Reconcile sales and produce nightly income/attendance reports
- Manage the door and phone for granting entry to the building
- Open and close facility before and after programming
- Maintain inventory in good order at the front desk and in storage areas
- Inventory management & reporting to management staff
- Manage facility supplies
- Attend staff meetings as needed, typically once a month for 60 minutes
- Co-facilitate volunteer coordination for events with executive staff, as needed
- Reports directly to Director, Márcia Treidler
Key Qualities/Skills
- Minimum 1-year customer service experience
- Retail Experience
- Good level of mental and physical fitness (capable of cleaning large studio 4500 sf area)
- Warm and friendly demeanor

- Knowledge of Capoeira preferred

You are eager and willing to learn about the programs, history, policies, and procedures of ACSF. You are familiar with and love working with multi-cultural, multi-generational populations. You speak Spanish and/or Portuguese. You have a strong work ethic and a cooperative, positive attitude and operate with integrity. You lead a healthy lifestyle and enjoy being an example in your community.

Compensation: $21 per hour
