CIGARRA & Guerreiras Nessa Arte will be presented by ACSF’s Performance Company with special guest artists, including Mestranda Yara, Professor Côco, and others.
Mestra Cigarra has been collaborating with Claudia Escobar, a filmmaker who shares stories of migration, artists, and cultural makers, to create a narrative and video that will be woven into the performance. In 2023, Escobar traveled with Mestra to Brazil to interview culture-bearers on video and collect other footage for the performance.
