Afro-Brazilian dance | Tania Santiago

Explore the vibrant world of Afro-Brazilian dance with San Francisco powerhouse Tania Santiago. Classes feature Afro-based modern movements, traditional folkloric dances like Samba de Roda, and lively Brazilian street dance styles, blending rhythm, history, and cultural expression.

Born and raised in Salvador, Bahia, Tania grew up in the heart of African-influenced Brazil. She has taught, danced, and choreographed for the most well-known companies in Brazil. Tania has extensive experience in other dance forms, including Jazz, Ballet, West African, Afro-Cuban, and Modern dance. She spent six years working with Olodum, a highly respected and internationally recognized Afro-Bloco in Brazil. Tania also choreographed and performed with Olodum on television, in concerts, and at music festivals. Since 1997, Tania has taught classes and delivered workshops in California, New York, Hawaii, Florida, and Vancouver, Canada. She has been an artist-in-residence at various school programs in San Francisco and a featured teacher at the Brazil Camp in Northern California.
