Support Positive Transformation Through Capoeira
Since 1991, ABADA-Capoeira San Francisco (ACSF) has been a women-led cultural cornerstone in San Francisco, using Capoeira and the arts to transform lives.
What began as a Capoeira training school has grown into a dynamic organization advancing arts education, workforce development, and gender equity. Every class, performance, apprenticeship, and paid artist opportunity we offer is designed to help people grow stronger, healthier, more confident, and more connected.
Why Your Donation Matters
At ACSF, participants learn to:
* Turn challenges into opportunities
* Break through perceived or imposed limitations
* Build physical and emotional resilience
* Lead with confidence
* Work collectively to strengthen their communities
We don’t just teach Capoeira, we cultivate leaders, support artists, and create pathways to economic mobility.
When you give, you help us:
* Expand access to culturally rooted arts education
* Employ and mentor emerging artists
* Amplify gender equity in Capoeira
* Provide apprenticeships and workforce development
* Keep our programs accessible to families across San Francisco
Every individual empowered creates a ripple of change, reaching families, neighborhoods, and future generations.

Dear Mestra Márcia, thank you for believing in me even more than I believe in myself sometimes. This achievement is as important to me as when I graduated medical school and became a doctor. Obrigada for everything!! – Cascata a.k.a. Monica

ABADÁ-Capoeira SF performed during our pre-game entertainment for The Oakland Raiders at the Hispanic Heritage game. We were very impressed with their performance. Through the use of live music our fans were able to experience a true performance of Brazilian Martial Arts. – Olivia Haro
ABADÁ-Capoeira performed in our office during our annual Diversity Week celebrations. We were so inspired by the dancers that we hope to offer ABADÁ-Capoeira classes in our office in the future. – Gerilyn Ward
Without capoeira I would not be where I am right now. I used to be a very nervous and shy person. Since training capoeira with ACSF my confidence has gone up. Learning capoeira forced me to break out of my nervous barrier, and push myself past self-perceived limits – Jorge Aguirre
