We are thrilled to announce that we have successfully achieved our fundraising goal for 2023! We are incredibly grateful for the generosity of over 40 individuals who helped us raise $41,558. This amount will be used to support the artist fees for our many program instructors in 2024.
Individual donations are a crucial part of our operating budget, contributing 8% of the total amount. Although it may not seem like a significant amount, it is. In 2023, we spent $115,000 on artist fees for our team of thirteen artists who work tirelessly to lead daily adult and youth programs at our Capoeira Arts Center and over 15 partner sites.
We offer many of our programs free of charge for our participants. As a result, we depend on grants and individual donations to ensure that our programs remain affordable and to compensate our talented artists. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who have contributed. Your support is invaluable to us, and we are grateful for each and every one of you!
