The batizado is capoeira’s most significant tradition, and we’re so proud of Professora Ciranda for organizing her 11th annual event in Marin County. The batizado tradition formally welcomes beginners into the capoeira school, and some students are awarded a new cord during the troca de corda or “changing of cords” ceremony.
