2026 Batizado and Graduation Ceremony
Friday, June 12, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM (Opening Celebration)
The batizado is capoeira’s most significant tradition, and we’re so proud of Professora Ciranda for organizing her 11th annual event in Marin County. The batizado tradition formally welcomes beginners into the capoeira school, and some students are awarded a new cord during the troca de corda or “changing of cords” ceremony. Mark your calendars and get ready to continue the festivities with Special Guest Mestrando Dinguinho at ABADÁ-Capoeira Marin’s batizado week, directly following our June batizado and workshop event.
The Batizado & Graduation Ceremony is one of the most meaningful moments in Capoeira. It marks the welcoming of new students into the roda, while current students are recognized for their dedication and growth as they receive their next cord.
