Does Your School Have Capoeira?

capoeira-residency

We have an action-packed year ahead! We’re already booked to bring Capoeira residency programs to seven schools in 2026–27. Will yours be one of them?

In just one class, kids learn to move their bodies, collaborate with others, play instruments, and sing songs in Portuguese—all while experiencing the rich cultural traditions of Afro-Brazilian Capoeira.

ABADÁ-Capoeira San Francisco has been bringing dynamic, culturally authentic arts programs to youth throughout the Bay Area for decades. Our talented team of teaching artists—Mestrando Jabuti, Professora Iguana, Professor Soldadinho, and Professor Papagaio—each bring more than 15 years of teaching experience to our school-based programs.

We’re excited to welcome new and continuing partners in 2026–27, including San Francisco’s Katherine Michiels School (KMS), Real Alternatives for City Kids (ROCK), The Dahlia School of San Francisco, Alta Vista School, The International School of San Francisco, Mission Graduates as well as Head-Royce School and The Renaissance International School in Oakland.

We’d love to bring Capoeira to your school or community center! Whether you’re interested in a workshop, residency class series, or performance, we’d be happy to talk about what could work for your community.
