PARABÉNS PAPAGAIO & SOLDADINHO
We collectively congratulate you on your recent achievement of receiving the title of Instrutor!

Please join us in congratulating ACSF students Papagaio (Elias) and Soldadinho (Miguel) for recently receiving their Instructor Level title and cords!

In December, when Mestre Camisa was in California teaching workshops at ABADÁ-San Francisco, Los Angeles and Orange County, he acknowledged their growth and commitment and presented them with their purple cord (corda roxa) at the Batizado ceremony in LA/OC.

This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to many years of dedication and practice. This is a particularly proud moment for Mestra Márcia and ACSF, as both Elias and Miguel began their training as teenage participants of ACSF’s Free Teen Program. They’ve consistently built knowledge in the art by training regularly with ACSF; performing in hundreds of events including multiple Spirit of Brazil concerts; traveling to other ABADÁ events; and by completing ACSF’s apprentice program and then going on to teach youth through our school-based programs.

They both are wonderful examples that regardless of life’s challenges, hard work and consistent dedication pays off. In addition to their day jobs, Papagaio and Soldadinho currently teach Capoeira to youth of the Bay Area, contributing to the betterment of their communities. They both serve as critical role models for the many young Latina/o immigrants who they teach.

Papagaio and Soldadinho were two of the four ABADÁ students who received their Instrutor title that day. We also congratulate Instrutor Gravador of AC-Los Angeles, and Instrutor Nenem. Parabéns to all!
