The Troca de Corda ceremony held on August 7 was a monumental milestone. We now have ACSF’s first-ever Professora, and the largest number of Instructor level students ever to be graduated in the history of ACSF. This event is testimony to Mestra Márcia’s years of work in the bay area yielding high-level cultural artists.
The expansion of artistic leadership creates new potential for ACSF as an organization, and for each of these artists who contribute in their own unique ways to the local bay area, the expansion of the art form, and the larger Capoeira community.
